Nearly 800 exhibits, largely interactive, present the heritage of the Central Industrial District (CID) to visitors in an accessible way.  The museum is located in a building that once served as school workshops, which in itself is a testament to the phenomenon of this undertaking

how to get there

Stalowa Wola, which is the headquarters of the institution, is a town that perfectly reflects the character of the Central Industrial District. Called the pearl of the CID, it was established as a housing estate for the newly built Southern Plants and has become its showcase.  No wonder then that it was here, through the efforts of the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, that the CID Museum was established.

The heart of the museum is the exhibition "Central Industrial District. The birth of innovative industry in Poland", which takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the industrial legacy of the CID.  The core of this collection consists of machines that were once the basic equipment of production plants.  An important part of the exhibition is the story of the people who contributed to the creation of this project.  A visit to the CID Museum will allow you to explore their ideas and thoughts.  For this purpose, memories of people who actively participated in this flagship project of the Second Polish Republic have been specially collected.  Temporary exhibitions are also organized here.

The story of the heritage of the Central Industrial District is enhanced by stylized films, archival footage as well as interactive quizzes.  All this is supposed to present the achievements of this undertaking in the most interesting way.  The smell of old factory halls in the air takes the visitors back to the heyday of the project and makes you feel like you are in the old plants.  If someone wants to feel like a steelworker and try on their costume or test their strength in piloting a plane, this is the place to be.  Among the exhibits collected by the institution, there is the unique PZInż Major propulsion unit, a pre-war aircraft engine, and a tire that was one of the first made at the “Stomil” Rubber Factory in Dębica.

The youngest visitors can enjoy the exhibition "City for Children" and the puzzle room  "Extinguished Star of the CID - Occupation".  Their purpose is above all to present history, but in a slightly less traditional way, e.g. through play.  If anyone wants to show their kids how cities are built, this is the perfect place. The institution has also prepared a space where conferences, seminars and concerts can be organized.
